Marasmus

Energy malnutrition Marasmus is a carbohydrate deficiency. It is a state of intense thinning that usually occurs in the first year of life. These defects are more severe than in height. Physical characteristics manifested in children with this disorder is to subcutaneous fat loss, lean muscle, bulging belly and a head too big for skinny body. Marasmus should be noted that, unlike kwashiorkor, are rarely characterized by edema.
